BIO
"Senza poesia in nessun caso" is an exhibition dedicated to Graziano Salerno, a Sardinian artist who weaves painting, drawing and poetry into a singular and visionary language. Produced by Fondazione di Sardegna within AR/S – Arte Condivisa and curated by Cristiana Collu, it brought together approximately 200 works from the second half of the 1980s, accompanied by a catalogue published by Treccani.
PROJECT
The exhibition brought together approximately 200 works from the second half of the 1980s — watercolours, drawings, ink works and the book Storia del cortile infinito — tracing the singular universe of Graziano Salerno, a Sardinian artist widely regarded as the heir to Costantino Nivola and Salvatore Fancello, who built his own ars combinatoria from painting, drawing, photography, poetry and words. His works carry a poetic, oneiric, visionary intensity — entrusted first to large canvases, then increasingly to paper. He invented his own version of Duchamp's Boîte-en-valise: a museum in a suitcase, a work in continuous transformation that reflects his omnivorous, dreaming, peaceful personality. He evokes the great masters from memory, reworks everything he has seen, known, dreamed and imagined, composing a world that is metaphysical and deeply human at the same time. The most successful exhibition ever produced by Fondazione di Sardegna, it was accompanied by a catalogue published by Treccani. Press coverage reached national and local media — television, radio, print — including specialised outlets and Repubblica.
